Hypnotherapy for unwanted habits

Hypnotherapy can be a powerful tool in helping you to break unwanted habits. Habits are automatic patterns of behaviour that we undertake without conscious thought. As a result, habits can be hard to break. Many of the habits we create are positive habits. For instance brushing our teeth, writing our names, walking to work, changing gear when driving. These habits make our lives easier by enabling us to undertake routine daily tasks without the need for conscious effort.

Other habits, such as skin picking, nail biting, hair pulling can be less helpful to us in our daily lives. These can have a negative impact on self-esteem, confidence and our sense of well-being. However, even these habits start out as a subconscious ‘solution’ to a ‘problem’ e.g. as a source of comfort or a distraction during an emotional time. By the time that ‘problem’ and ‘solution’ have been repeated a couple of times, the behaviour becomes embedded in the subconscious mind as a ‘solution’ and forms a habit.

Hypnotherapy helps your subconscious mind see that you no longer need that particular behaviour. Hypnotherapy is not a ‘magic wand’. However, if you are willing to work with me, hypnotherapy can help you to break unwanted habits and enable you to see lasting change.
